Head Chef

Head Chef

Our new head chef at Moyles is Alastair Lynas who has had various roles within the hospitality industry over the past 16 years and as head chef for over seven.

Highlights of his career include teaming up with well-known chef Adrian Jones at the Shibden Mill which resulted in a “Best Restaurant of the Year” entry into Les Routiers and also gained 2 AA Rosette Award status.  Alastair moved into Adrian’s role there at just 24 years of age.

Other local and regional success stories include Lister Mansion in Bradford which received its first 5 star Food Award from the Telegraph and Argus following its opening with Lynas at the helm. The Victoria Hotel in Bradford also features on his CV along with the Woodhall Hotel and Spa and Holdsworth House, both Rosette Awarded establishments.
Having started out working under Terry Leybourne, a Michelin Star Chef at Matfen Hall in Northumberland, the high standards were set from the outset and have accompanied him throughout his career.
It’s not just Yorkshire that has benefitted from Alastair’s talent for creating good tasting dishes from many of his own recipes; the Left Bank Bar in Dubai became the number one popular place to eat and drink after it opened its doors with him leading the team.
A few consultative roles with Adrian Jones, the most recent being The Swan Inn, a gastro-pub in Hampshire, adds weight to his credentials as an imaginative head chef to look out for in the future.
